The US Navy’s unmanned Northrop Grumman MQ-8C Fire Scout completed dynamic interface testing aboard the littoral combat ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8). The tests, on April 11, verified the MQ-8C launch and recovery procedures and the interoperability between the unmanned helicopter and the ship. Additionally, the testing was used to determine the flight envelopes to safely execute MQ-8C operations from Independence-class ships under a variety of pitch, roll and wind limits.
