US Approves fighter jet sales to Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait

 

The US Government has approved a number of sales of military goods that have been pending for some time.

Among the deals approved this week, and announced by the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker,are sales of fighter aircraft to Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.

The contracts reportedly include up to 40 Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets for Kuwait, 72 Boeing F-15E Strike Eagles for Qatar and an undisclosed number of Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcons for Bahrain.

The Kuwaiti and Qatari sales have been awaiting approval for more than two years.
