Review: Airfix 1/48 Gloster Meteor F.

Airfix 1/48 Gloster Meteor F.8

Airfix is always at the top of the game when it comes to releasing new kits representing popular subjects. The company’s new 1/48 scale Meteor is a real treat for the enthusiast. Well packaged and excellently detailed, it enables the modeller to create one of two versions of the classic jet – Meteor F.8 WL123, which flew with 111 Squadron from North Weald, and WH364 which was based at Binbrook, Lincs, with 85 Squadron in 1968. The latter is now on display at the Jet Age Museum in Staverton, Gloucestershire. As ever with Airfix, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, as are the paint schemes. This is the perfect type of kit for those branching into 1/48 scale modelling for the first time, as well as being of interest to the more seasoned enthusiast. www.airfix.com
